One of the contenders for the Imo North (Okigwe) Senatorial seat, Chief Chikwem Onuoha has stated that he don’t need the All Progressives Congress, APC waiver to contest for the Okigwe Senate seat.
According to his campaign team, Chikwem has not only got the party’s waiver to contest in the forthcoming Okigwe Senatorial bye election but very ready for the election.
Chikwem Onuoha, contested the Okigwe North Federal Representatives position in 2019, under APGA, but was sacked by the Court.
He decamped to the APC, and has declared his interest to run for the Senate.
Chikwem have been vigorously campaigning, using his youthfulness as the reason he should be voted for.
However, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, have been granted waiver by the APC National Leadership, granting him the opportunity to contest in the Okigwe Senate rerun.
Araraume was the APGA Govenroship candidate in 2019, and required a waiver to contest under APC having rejoined the party barely a few months ago.
Supporters of the Isiebu born billionaire, insist that Okigwe needs experienced hands at the moment, and Araraume remains the most experienced to ensure Okigwe would not be shortchanged. They insist that any new hand will start learning legislative processes, costing the zone more time wasting, having wasted time already since the demise of Senator Benjamin Uwajumogu.
