The Honorable Commissioner in charge of Ministry of International and Foreign Affairs, Dr.Fabian Ihekweme has lauded the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency Distinguish Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma for appending his assent on the Bill seeking the repealing of the Law that strengthened pension and gratuity of ex Governors and their Deputy, Speakers and their Deputy as enshrined in the 1999 constitution.

Dr.Fabian a seasoned academia popularly known and address as Omu, made this assertion while speaking to newsmen in his office, he thanked the Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for the courage taken so far to wage the economic lost that has beclouded Imo State since inception of democracy in 1999, as experienced in the past administrations.

Dr.Ihekweme maintained that it is only a Governor with good will that can set up an administration that is focused, he added that this are people oriented policies and Bills that can allow governance get to the rural populace, like a government of shared prosperity, the state government can not condole the annual pension and gratuity of ex governors and their Deputy including speakers and their Deputy Worthing over 1.3Billion Naira, this amount, Dr.Fabian said can take care of Imo workers wage bill for at least 2months.

Dr.Fabian lamented over the economic hardship the good people of Imo State has suffered over the incurred huge lost of wealth, he described His Excellency Distinguish Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma for being selfless, considering the plight of Imo people is the key to successful democracy.

You will recall that few days ago the Imo State House of Assembly through the member Representing Ikeduru State, and The Majority Leader of the 9th Assembly. Hon. Amb.Uchechukwu Ogbuagu, passed a Law repealing the Bill that ex governors and their Deputies, ex speakers and their Deputies will be receiving pension and gratuity after living office,a Bill Dr. Fabian described as Recovered fund that can be channeled into another avenue for development to thrive in the State.

However the academia lauded the 9th Assembly led by Dr.Chiji Collins for taken the bull by the horn to save Imo State resources.

Meanwhile as the tripod of this administration, Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery, the present government under the Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma has given free hands to the 3 arms of government , the Judiciary, Executive and Legislature that are working together so that the lost hope of Imo state can be restored.
