That the former Governor, Hon Emeka Ihedioha bought the 2019 model Mercedes Benz Sprinter at the cost of N187 million, to add to his fleets expensive bullet proof cars is mind-boggling.
I am more pained that the then Rebuild Imo Governor/government was preaching financial discipline, prudence and integrity in management of Imo scarce resources.
It’s more worrisome, when the N187 million spent on purchasing one single car, Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 519 XXL, could produce about 180 Imo sons and daughters as millionaires as grant for Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) in Imo State.
I am aware none of the bullet proof cars used by Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha and his Deputy, Engr Gerald Irona cost nothing less than N70 million each.
The aforementioned 2019 Mercedes Benz sprinter was paid for and imported by the Ihedioha administration, but arrived Nigeria fews weeks ago, and currently under the custody of the current government in Imo.
