Movement for the actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has given candidates contesting various offices in next year’s general election 7 days ultimatum within which to remove Ojukwu’s photograph from posters, Bill boards, campaign vehicles or face its wrath.
Irked by failure by Iyom Bianca Ojukwu to emerge as the flag bearer of Anambra South Senatorial candidate of the All progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the just concluded primary election in the state, the group’s leader, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike has passed vote of no confidence in the Willie Obiano- led APGA.
Uwazuruike, who gave glowing account of Bianca’s late husband, Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu- Ojukwu, also said that Ikemba had remained the symbol of the Igbo, saying if Ojukwu was disgraced by Chief Willie Obiano-led APGA of Anambra State, the Igbo had equally been disgraced
He, however, described the disgrace meted out at Bianca Ojukwu as embarrassing and abomination, saying “as far as APGA political party and its leaders have no respect for DIM Ojukwu, APGA is dead and seizes to be Igbo party from today.”
In a press statement issued after the group’s meeting at Ojukwu memorial library, new Owerri, the Imo state capital and signed by the Biafra Director of information, Mazi Chris Mocha, Uwazuruike also banned the party from using Ojukwu’s picture for political rallies or campaigns in Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu, Anambra, Rivers, Delta, Edo and any other states where APGA had political structures.
