President Muhammadu Buhari had declared that he will inaugurate his presidential campaign council PCC, after the All Progressive Congress APC, National Convention slated for Saturday, 6th October, 28.
The inauguration of the Council is expected to bring to an end all speculations to an end as the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) will be assigned the responsibilities of leading the All Progressives Congress, APC, to victory in the February 2019 general elections.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said the President said he is aware of the yearning by Nigerians for the formation of a full Presidential Campaign Council towards the APC’s victory in the presidential elections.
There had been intense lobbying by some individuals, even those who are not necessarily members party to be part of the council.
The PCC, when inaugurated will take charge of all aspect of the President’s campaigns including mobilization, logistics, finance, as well as publicity
The President said he appreciates the growing interest that Nigerians have shown in this issue, adding that he is conscious of their keen expectation.
However, President Buhari implores members of the party and the public to exercise some patience regarding the constitution of the PCC.
The statement said the President and the party executives are focused on the APC convention scheduled for Saturday, October 6, for now, adding that “ The Presidential Campaign Council will be put in place after the convention”
“We are the party that will free Nigeria from corruption and poor governance. We are the party of change. We will not let the country down,” President Buhari assures.
